Arjan Singh Funeral:
Archbishop of the Indian Air Force and the 1965 Indo-Pak war hero Arjan Singh was cremated today with the state honor in Delhi. Arjan Singh was the only officer of the Air Force, who was awarded five star rank. He died yesterday at 98 years of age. Arjan Singh was born on April 15, 1919 in Lilpur, Punjab, undivided India.

Arjan Singh Funeral: Arjan Singh was cremated at Berar Scowair in Delhi. During this time, senior officials of the three forces were present, the country’s first woman defense minister Nirmala Sitharaman, senior BJP leader LK Advani and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. During this, Arjun Singh was given a salute of 21 guns and he was saluted from the sky.

Pakistan launched the Operation Grand Slam in 1965, in which it targeted Akhnoor, the important city of Jammu and Kashmir, then Singh led the Indian Air Force with courage, commitment and professional competence. A fighter pilot, Singh, in the 1965 fight, inspired the IAF using full force of air power in spite of obstacles.

At the age of 44, the responsibility of leading the Air Force

Arjan Singh Funeral: He was given the responsibility of leading the Indian Air Force at the age of 44, which he did very well. In the battle of 1965, when the Indian Air Force was on the front front, he was its head. Singh, who used to fly more than 60 different types of aircraft, played an important role in making the IAF one of the world’s most powerful air forces and building the fourth largest air force in the world.

Padma Vibhushan Awarded in 1965

He was not only a fearless fighter pilot, he was known as a very less spoken person, but he had intimate knowledge about air power, which he used widely in air operations. He was awarded the country’s second highest civilian honor Padma Vibhushan in 1965. He was the Chief of the IAF from August 1, 1964 to July 15, 1969.

Ambassador of India to Switzerland

After retirement from Air Force, Arjan Singh was appointed as ambassador of India in Switzerland in 1971. Along with this he also served as ambassador in the Vatican. He was also the High Commissioner in Kenya in 1974. He is also a Member of the National Minorities Commission and the Lt Governor of Delhi. He was made Air Marshal Marshall in January 2002.
